Calling all young artists: the Monmouth County Library System is seeking a new logo, and a contest to find the best logo is now under way.
The aim is to emphasize the added dimension of the library’s services that are part of the growing dynamic of the Monmouth County Library.
“Not only is the library a place to dream, a place to learn and a place to realize one’s potential, but the library has also become everyone’s corner store of the mind,” said Renee B. Swartz, chairperson of the Monmouth County Library Commission.
The logo contest is open to all Monmouth County students ages 14 to 22. The winning artist will receive a $500 prize. The prize money will be donated by the Friends of the Monmouth County Library.
The new logo will be used on the library webpage, letterhead, fliers and other library documents.
The contest will run through the summer. The submission deadline is Sept. 1. Entries will be judged by the library commissioners, and only one winner will be chosen.
Artists should submit a paper print of their entries by mail to: Library Logo Contest, c/o Public Relations Office, Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, NJ 07726. Include name, address, phone number and an email address, if available. For questions on the contest, call 732-308-3747.
There is a limit of one entry per person. Monmouth County employees and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest.
