PRINCETON: District loses 17 staff to retirement

   Seventeen members of Princeton Regional Schools’ faculty and staff are retiring this year.
   At Riverside School, Joanne Westcott, a five-year staff member, retired as a speech language specialist, as well as at John Witherspoon School. Janet Woods, 23 years, retired after working with academic intervention services (AIS), as well as at Littlebrook School. Sandra Barlow, 19 years, retired as an administrative secretary.
   At Johnson Park School, Mary Demarest, 31½ years, and Ann Sokoloff, 22½ years, retired as fourth-grade teachers. Kathleen SanFillippo, 25 years, retired as a science teacher.
   At John Witherspoon Middle School, Bonnie Gendaszek, 26 years, retired as a mathematics teacher. John Cronin, 24 years, retired as a school counselor. Diane Savotti, 12 years, retired as a social studies teacher. Eileen Sanchez, 12 years, retired as the supervisor of special education.
   At Princeton High School, Marcia Cooper, 28 years, retired as the guidance secretary. Suzanne Thompson, 25 years, retired as an English teacher. Sheila MacRae, 10 years, retired as a French teacher, and Patricia Marino, nine and a half years, retired as an ESL teacher.
   At the district office, Kim Gutglueck, 25 years, retired as an executive secretary. Dr. Agnes Golding, 22 years, retired as the director of student services. Rosalind Levine, 10½ years, retired as a senior accounts payable bookkeeper.
   ”I would like to take this opportunity to thank our retirees,” said board member Molly Chrein. “These teachers will be missed, and we thank them so much.”
   ”It’s an exceptional group of secretaries and support staff and faculty members who have given their very, very best to Princeton and to our children,” said Judy Wilson, superintendent. “We wish them great joy in the years ahead.”
   Sharon Goldman, principal of Community Park School, will retire in August.
   The board also approved the renewal of the following central administrators’ one-year contracts: Lewis Goldstein, assistant superintendent for human resources, public information and community relations; Stephanie Kennedy, business administrator/board secretary; Bonnie Lehet, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction; and Gary Wiseman, director of plant/operations.
