It takes a village

Susan J. Goetz, of Cranbury
I would like to thank the people of Cranbury for the show of support and for giving me this opportunity to serve the community.
For those of you who don’t know me, I have been a resident of Cranbury for more than 30 years. I have been lucky to raise my two children, Chris and Allison DiNoia, here.
Now I am even luckier to be able to watch my 7-year-old grandson, Tyler, enjoy his childhood here as Chris and his lovely wife, Ally, moved back to Cranbury a few years ago.
As a single parent, I could do all of this because of all that Cranbury is. It truly “takes a village,” and we have an amazing one here in Cranbury — a safe, beautiful, creative and caring community with a great school, open spaces and people who look out for each other.
With my children grown, I now have the time and a real interest in giving back to a community that has given me so much. I feel obligated to do what I can to make sure that the next generation continues to have a wonderful life here as well as an opportunity and desire to one day raise their family right here in Cranbury.
Of course, it takes much more than a love for Cranbury to be a valuable committee member. I believe my education and experience as a professional has given me skills that are valuable to the town of Cranbury.
With a BS in biology and an MS in environmental science, my passions for our natural environment are enhanced with a strong science and engineering background. I have worked directly in the environmental field for government agencies (state and federal) as well as for the consulting industry where I functioned on a management team as a senior VP, responsible for personnel, budget and strategic planning.
I am currently working as a business development manager for an analytical laboratory engaged in proposal writing, client communication and problem solving.
Locally, I have served on the Cranbury Environmental Commission for a total of five years (three years in the 80s and now for the last two years) where I have presented testimony on several issues before the Township Committee, including redevelopment applications and land preservation.
It has been a great experience and has given me the opportunity to help out in the community as well as the pleasure of getting to know many of you.
As the campaign moves forward, I invite you to visit my web page at www.susangoetz.com to understand my position on issues that are important to you.
I also invite you to email me at [email protected] with your questions, concerns or any issues that are important to you. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your neighbors in person. I want you to have a clear picture of who I am and what I will try to do for you if given the opportunity.
Finally, we are lucky in that we get to choose between two people both committed to this town.
So please take the time to understand us both and make the choice you believe will be best for Cranbury.
