POLICE BEAT: Week of June 23

Bordentown City
   Damon Hunt, 38, of Camden was charged with fraudulently attempting to obtain prescription drugs and with attempting to obtain prescription drugs by forgery on June 8 after police were called to Boyd’s Pharmacy on Farnsworth Avenue. Patrolman Joe Bourn arrived to find Mr. Hunt, who said he was filling a prescription for a friend. Police determined that the information given was false and Mr. Hunt was arrested and charged. Police also discovered Mr. Hunt was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Camden for $230. Bail was set at $15,000 with no 10 percent option. Mr. Hunt was held in the Burlington County Jail.

   Patrolman Vincent Bernotas responed to a call to a St. Mary Street residence on June 15 to find a man on the floor on his back while a family member was performing CPR. Calvin Vajdics, 24, responded and a pulse was detected, police said. Mr. Vajdics was transported to a nearby hospital where he stayed overnight and was released. Police said they discovered evidence including hypodermic needles and pipes used for smoking drugs at the residence. On his release from the hospital Mr. Vajdics was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled for a court appearance later this month.

   James Robinson, 34, of Trenton was charged with attempt to obtain prescription drugs by fraud after police were called to Boyd’s Pharmacy on June 14. He was released after posting 10 percent of $7,000 bail and after he paid for two outstanding warrants from Hamilton Township totaling $500. He was scheduled for a court appearance later this month.
Florence
   Matthew Herrmann, 34, of Edgewater Park was charged with drunken driving, failure to maintain lane, speeding and failure to appear following his arrest on Saturday at 4 a.m. on Route 130 south. Police said Mr. Herrmann was stopped for several motor vehicle violations and showed signs of intoxication. He was given sobriety tests and police said his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. Mr. Herrmann was released to a friend pending a court appearance. He also paid $250 bail on an outstanding traffic warrant, police said.

   Police arrested two drivers on Saturday night on outstanding warrants. Stacey Jackson, 32, of West 3rd Street was found to have outstanding contempt of court warrants from Florence and Burlington Township. He was taken to the Burlington County Jail when defaulted on posting $1,250 bail. Erin Prusik, 23, of Hamilton posted $304 bail for an outstanding warrant from Robbinsville.
