Catholic tent revival comes to St. Veronica’s Church

HOWELL— Good News International Ministries is inviting families to attend its 15th annual Good News Catholic Tent Revival to be held June 26-28 on the grounds of St. Veronica’s Catholic Church, 4215 Route 9 north, Howell.

Bill Wegner, president of Good News Ministries of New Jersey, said the free event will feature uplifting music, special musical guests, speakers, a bookstore, ministry booths and affordable food from the Good News Grill.

“There is something for everyone,” he said. “It doesn’t matter the way that you worship.”

Each night will feature spirit-led Catholic teachings by evangelists from Good NewsMinistries throughout the country. Closing Mass will be celebrated under the tent on June 28. The grounds open each day at 6 p.m., with evening events starting at 6:30 p.m.

On June 26, guests can enjoy face painting and Christian skits for children, with appearances by master clowns, Wegner said.

“It’s a coming together of all the community,” he said, adding that people travel from all around the country to attend the event.

Along with Wegner, guest speakers will include Brian Casey, John Schweisthal and Brent Heiser. Their backgrounds range from lawyers and teachers to authors and business owners. Most have traveled from across the country to share their message and inspiration.

“In these tough times, not only in the world, but also in the church, we can all use some encouragement,” Wegner said.

In addition, a free workshop conducted by the GNI team of evangelists will be held on June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This workshop, “Who Do You Say That I Am?” will explore the words of Jesus in the gospels and challenge all who attend to live out these words in everyday life, Wegner said in a press release.

Although the event is free, preregistration is necessary.

“It’s something for the family to get together,” he said.
