Mr. Formon, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Matawan, died June 13, 2011, at the Manor Care Nursing Home, Palm Harbor. He had resided in Matawan for 51 years before moving to Palm Harbor 20 years ago. After serving as a gunner’s mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Mr. Formon and his brother founded Formon Bros. Logging of Matawan, which they operated for 16 years. They then started the Spring Lake Freezer Co. in Spring Lake, where they sold and stored wholesale bait products for the commercial fishing industry. He was a life member and former fire chief for the Matawan Hook and Ladder Fire Company. Mr. Formon was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Formon, and a brother, William Formon. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick W. and Janet Formon and William W. and Laura Formon, and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, Morganville section of Marlboro. Internment followed in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
