    The parents and guardians of the sixth-grade class at the Lambertville Public School wish to thank all of the residents, business owners and friends who contributed to the overwhelming success of this year’s trip to Washington, D.C.
   The journey on June 6 and 7 afforded the students a unique opportunity to see historic sites, visit Smithsonian museums, and learn about our nation’s history and government.
   This educational excursion was made possible by the significant financial contributions from the Lambertville community, the involvement of the sixth-graders’ parents and guardians, and the assistance of school district officials and employees.
   This year’s fundraising effort featured a first-time event — La Noche Mexicana, a special night that celebrated Mexican heritage and cuisine. The occasion capped off a successful six-month campaign to raise the finances necessary to support the Washington bus trip. Many people deserve credit for this positive outcome, including:
   — Class supervisor Diana Potts, Principal Geoff Hewitt, and Superintendent Todd Fay for having faith in our vision to make La Noche Mexicana a success;
   — Toni and Paulino Santiago for their vision and hard work in pulling together the evening’s disparate elements – food, games, activities, entertainment and community awareness;
   — Ann Osborne for her design work, her wonderful t-shirts, and ticket sale tracking;
   — All of the parents who helped the school’s janitor in setting up and breaking down the event;
   — All of the families who made food for the occasion, including Irene Lopez, Angelina Castro, the Huesca family, Joachim Feria, Luis Martinez, Kathy Cuddihy, and Judy Bremer;
   — All of the parents and students who helped to serve food, bus tables, and lead patrons in games and activities;
   — Taneesa Peters and John Dowd for their generous donations;
   — The night’s entertainers — Inocente Gonzales and Claudia Hermosilla.
   In addition to the individuals who helped with LaNoche Mexicana, we wish to thank the following supporters whose generous donations helped to make the Washington trip possible: Advanced Ceramics; American Legion, Toscanni Post 120; Artful Eye; Baldwin Publishing; Bear Apothecary Shoppe; Betty Thurman; Bjorn Glass; Blue Raccoon Design Group; Bruce Jacobs; Castor Jewelry; Craftsman Auction Lambertville; Downtown Performing Arts; Ed’s Auto Repair/Towle Towing; Finkle’s Hardware; Garefino Funeral Home; George W.
