Free Motion Rehabilitation Center and Weight Loss and Wellness have teamed up with Mike Greene of RKA to offer personal fitness training to their clients and to the public. The goal, in addition to rehabilitating sports injuries and chronic pain, is to educate the community in functional training and increase overall health and fitness in a step to overcome the growing obesity rates.

In addition to the individual and group personal fitness training available, Weight Loss and Wellness and Mike Greene will hold fitness presentations at Free Motion Rehabilitation Center, 528 New Friendship Road, Howell, that will cover a variety of topics, including weight loss, functional training and posture. Jackson Township officials held an economic development business summit on June 6. The event was hosted by Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson.

Mayor Mike Reina welcomed the attendees. Anna Wainright, Jackson’s municipal planner, outlined Jackson’s new master plan for smart growth. Her presentation illustrated Jackson’s demographics and strategic points for potential investors, developers and the invited state representatives.

The keynote speaker for the event was New Jersey Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, who is leading the Christie administration’s efforts to keep businesses in New Jersey and to welcome new businesses to create job growth.

Joining Guadagno was Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Lori Grifa, Department of State Business Action Center Director Lauren Moore and Economic Development Authority Laura Wallick .

Each expressed a desire to help Jackson achieve its goals, offered plans and resources, and thanked Reina for his commitment to help promote smart commercial growth.

Reina said he is asking businesses, large and small, to take a look at Jackson and what it has to offer them.

Barbara Guzzi of the Orchards at Bartley assisted living in Jackson has been honored with an award from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA). For the fourth year in a row, the Orchards at Bartley has been honored byALFAand this year recognizes Barbara Guzzi as the 2011 Caregiver Champion.

The Caregiver Champion Award is part ofALFA’s annual Hero Awards, which honor outstanding assisted living professionals.

As the Caregiver Champion Award winner, Guzzi was recognized and honored for her commitment to constantly go above and beyond expectations to provide extraordinary service to seniors.

Guzzi has been part of the Orchards team since 2008 and has embraced each and every resident as if they were her own family member, according to the press release. She is constantly exceeding expectations and enriches the residents’ lives with the special things she does. Her motivation does not come from the recognition for her actions, but from the reaction of the residents, knowing that she is truly making a difference for them.

The Howell Chamber of Commerce will host a Breakfast Bonanza networking event 8-9:30 a.m. July 8 at the St. Veronica Church cafeteria, Howell. “Dentistry Beyond Filling Cavities” will be presented by Dr. “Balaji” Srinivasan of Aesthetic Dental Creations.
