Students at Mastro Montessori, Little Silver, performed June 25 in the opera “Pearl,” which took the audience on a journey that celebrates the beauty of the sea, our rivers and their wondrous creatures. All in the audience were impressed with the skills and the seriousness of purpose that the young children brought to the performance, according to school officials. This underwater myth unraveled a captivating tale of abduction and rescue that provides an opportunity for the various characters to learn about themselves and the priceless treasure of friendship. The opera culminates in a joyful celebration that reunites Pearl with all of the beloved River Folk.
