Lawrenceville, NJ n In a continuing effort to recognize extraordinary contributions to healthcare in New Jersey, the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Foundation (www.EJIawards.org) and MDAdvantage Insurance Company of New Jersey (www.MDAdvantageonline.com) are calling for nominations for the 2012 Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Awards®. The deadline for nominations is August 19, 2011.
“Since 1939, these annual awards have recognized exemplary physicians and leaders whose dedication to education, research and public service have made a difference to the delivery of healthcare in New Jersey and around the world,” said Paul J. Hirsch, MD, Chairman of the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Foundation. “Each year, we look forward to honoring an exceptional group of award recipients who have made significant accomplishments in their respective areas of expertise.”

For the third consecutive year, profits from the event will be dedicated to the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Scholarship Fund to support healthcare education in New Jersey. The Fund is a perfect fit with the person for whom the program is named: Edward J. Ill, MD, a New Jersey physician who was a pioneer in promoting medical education, setting a national standard.

Nominations
An individual or group may submit nominations as per the Guidelines for Nomination, available at www.EJIawards.org. The nomination package should include a letter summarizing the candidate’s areas of excellence, unique contributions and special qualifications, and his or her CV or resume.
