The New Jersey Emerging Artists Series at the Monmouth Museum continues this summer with an exhibition by artist Etty Yaniv, of Alpine.
This exhibition features drawings on paper of objects from Yaniv’s domestic and work environment and transcribed text from the media and the Internet. The exhibit opened July 15 and will run through Aug. 14.
Yaniv states, “In my recent drawings on paper, objects gradually disintegrate, conflict or bimorph into diagrams of organisms ranging from body parts, obscure microscopic life, or multiplied motion lines of my restless cat. They merge over time with fragmented objects in my domestic environment and transcribed text from radio streaming and Google searches.”
The artist will share insights on her work in a gallery talk on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 7-8 p.m.
The New Jersey Emerging Artists Series features six exhibitions each year and provides a unique opportunity for New Jersey artists to showcase their work. The artists selected for this series represent the diversity of talent in the state and demonstrate their creativity in a wide variety of media, including drawing, painting, watercolor, pastel, handmade paper, collage, photography, mobile art, clay, mixed-media sculpture and glass art.
The Monmouth Museum is located on the Brookdale Community College Campus, Newman Springs Road, in Lincroft. For more information, call the museum at 732-747-2266, or visit the website www.monmouthmuseum.org.
