Pianist wins Barton scholarship

Ann Lee is the inaugural recipient of the Ena Bronstein Barton Piano Scholarship of Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Rider University.
Ann, a rising senior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, has studied piano at the Conservatory for 11 years with Galina Prilutskaya. She is the daughter of Kun and Soon-Joo Lee of West Windsor.
The Ena Bronstein Barton Piano Scholarship was established to recognize and reward talented, hard-working young pianists who study at Westminster Conservatory. Scholarship recipients must exhibit community spirit as well as exemplary music study beyond their private lessons in the areas of music theory, music history, a second instrument, chamber music, composition, and accompanying. Ann will be presented a certificate of honor with a $500 scholarship to Westminster Conservatory, and she will be recognized in her Conservatory concert programs in the coming academic year.
Established this year, the scholarship honors Ena Bronstein Barton, the head of the piano department at Westminster Conservatory. Ms. Barton is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist with a career as soloist, duo pianist and chamber musician. She has served as faculty at Westminster Conservatory since 1982.
