MIDDLETOWN— Middletown police said they closed Junction Bar and Liquors on Main Street in Belford after an investigation revealed violations of laws pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages.
According to a press release from the police department, members of the detective bureau visited the Belford store on July 9 to enforce ordinances and laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
“The detectives determined that none of the employees of the establishment had Alcoholic Beverage Control cards which are required to serve alcohol,” the press release said.
Detectives closed the store pending further investigation.
Police arrested Red Bank resident Thomas Dundon, 31, a store employee, on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Asbury Park Municipal Court. He was held on bail.
According to police, Red Bank resident David Miller, 50, a bartender, was also arrested, for alleged possession and intent to distribute cocaine.
