Attention: Incoming sixth-grade parents

Tony Suozzo, principal, Timberlane
Middle School
There are several important opportunities for our incoming sixth-graders to become oriented to Timberlane Middle School before the start of the 2011-12 school year. On Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 9-10 a.m., all sixth-graders and their parents are invited to an informal Open House, during which students and parents can tour the building and find their homerooms. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
That same evening the Hopewell Valley YMCA will be sponsoring its annual “Meet and Greet” for our incoming sixth- grade students from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Timberlane cafeteria. This event is for students only. More information about this event can be found on the Timberlane web page.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 7:45-10:45 a.m., we will offer a special orientation for sixth grade students only, without their parents. The students will have the opportunity to ride the bus to and from school, to walk through their schedule of classes, and to meet all of their teachers. Please note that the first day of school will be Wednesday, Sept. 7.
I will be sending more information out electronically to parents at the end of the third week in August about the these orientation programs, the upcoming school year as well as team placements. Have a wonderful summer!
