MONROE: Three-car accident kills young woman

   MONROE — A young woman from Iselin died from a head injury suffered after a car accident in northern Monroe on Monday.
   At about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Spotswood-Englishtown Road and Norma Street, three cars were involved in a car crash, police said.
   According to police, Suzanne Dorflaufer, 64, of Monroe, was stopped in the northbound lane of Spotswood-Englishtown Road preparing to make a left turn onto Norma Street in a 2005 Nissan Altima.
   Meanwhile, Christina Bettinger, 30, of Iselin, was driving south on Spotswood-Englishtown Road in a 2007 Honda Civic, approaching the intersection with Norma Street, and William Grischuk, 18, of Millstone, was going north on Spotswood-Englishtown Road in a 2001 Ford F250 with two juvenile passengers behind Ms. Dorflaufer in the Nissan.
   Mr. Grischuk’s vehicle rear-ended the Nissan, police said.
   After the initial impact, Mr. Grischuk’s vehicle crossed over the double yellow line into the southbound lane of Spotswood-Englishtown Road and struck the vehicle driven by Ms. Bettinger.
   Ms. Bettinger suffered a head injury from the accident and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, police said. She was pronounced dead at 5:39 p.m., police said.
   Ms. Dorflaufer, Mr. Grischuk and the two juvenile passengers were not injured in the accident, police said.
