Cranbury Committee recognizes nationwide 9/11 commemoration

Committeeman James Taylor
To the editor: This year will mark the 10 year anniversary of the tragic and horrific events of September 11, 2001 a day that changed our country, our state and our community forever.
On July 22nd in a tremendous show of support the Senate by a 100-0 vote established a National Moment of Remembrance to be held on September 11, 2011. This action called on the Senators to reach out to every community they serve and request that they pass a similar resolution and at 1:00 p.m EDT memorialize the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks with ringing of bells and sirens and one minute of reflection.
On Tuesday, September 6th the Township Committee of Cranbury held a special meeting to pass the requested resolution recognizing September 11, 2011 as a day of solemn commemoration of the events of September 11, 2001 and a day to come together as a community and a nation. Therefore, as requested by the U.S. Senate we will be joining the rest of our country by sounding our horns, sirens and church bells at 1pm for a period of one minute.
We as a Township Committee also wish to extend our sincerest sympathies to those who lost friends and loved ones on that horrific day.
   Sincerely, Cranbury Township Committee
Win Cody, Dave Cook, Glenn Johnson, Dan Mulligan, and Jay Taylor
   Best Regards,
