Seminar on essential tremor set for Oct. 1

International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) will host a free seminar, “Learning About Essential Tremor: The Diagnosis Process & Treatment Options,” 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 1 at JFK Medical Center’s first-floor auditorium, 65 James St., Edison.

ET is the most common of all movement disorders, affecting approximately 10 million Americans. At the seminar, attendees will learn about the latest ET research, commonly prescribed medications, surgical options, support groups and more. While this seminar is free, registration is required by Sept. 28.

Speakers include Philip Hanna, M.D., movement disorder neurologist, Neuroscience Institute, JFK Medical Center; Asif Bashir, M.D., neurosurgeon, Neuroscience Institute, JFK Medical Center; and Jacqueline Cristini, P.A., Neuroscience Institute, JFK Medical Center.
