FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP —CentraState Medical Center is holding a “Live Your Best Life” community health fair to celebrate its 40-year anniversary on Sept. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township.
The free event will include a keynote presentation, a health fair and screenings, fun activities for children, prizes and giveaways, refreshments, and more.
Jay and Jen Jacobs from NBC-TV’s “The Biggest Loser” will present “Ignite the Fire Within, How to Transform Your Body and Your Life!” at 12:30 p.m. in the ambulatory campus auditorium.
The program includes highlights from the show and the “real” stories behind them; the biggest challenges Jay and Jen faced and how they overcame them; how to turn “ahha” moments into lasting change; the no-excuse, 30-minute fat blasting workout; how to eat smart and lose big; and life-changing lessons from celebrity trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.
Aquestion and answer session and meet and greet with Jay and Jen will follow the presentation. Jay and Jen will conduct a cooking demonstration from 2-2:30 p.m., making nutritious and delicious low-calorie meals created to enhance energy and promote weight loss.
The event also will offer free blood pressure, body fat and glucose screenings; tours of the Michelle and Jennifer Tobias Adventure to Health; a teddy bear clinic (children bring their own bear or doll); puppet shows about health and wellness at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.; face painting (1:30-3:30 p.m.); free $20 gift certificates to ABC Day Spa; a Zumba dance party (wear your workout clothes); refreshments, door prizes, and more.
