The Somerset County Federation of Democratic Women (SCFDW) hosted a Tea with Abigail Adams on Monday, September 19, 2011 in Bridgewater. Kim Hanley of the American Historical Theatre was featured as Abigail Adams. Mrs. Adams spoke about her life from her early years until her husband, John Adams, became president in 1797. She answered questions from the audience and posed for pictures.
The event supported women candidates running in Somerset County. Those receiving contributions from the SCFDW included Carolyn Freeman in Bedminster, Bonnie Diehl in Bernards, Kate Lincoln in Bernardsville, Mary Pranzatelli in Bridgewater, Rozalyn Sherman and Kimberly Francois in Franklin, Margaret Weinberger in Somerville, Caryl “Chris” Shoffner and August Carlton in South Bound Brook. Also Maureen Vella running for State Senate in the 16th District, Marie Corfield for Assembly in the 16th District, Linda Stender for Assembly in the 22nd District, and Karen Carroll for Assembly in the 23rd District.
