The Plumsted Business and Merchants Association is planning a Fall Consumer/Business Expo for Nov. 5 at the Dr. Gerald H. Woehr Elementary School on Main Street. The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 in recognition of Veterans Day. Businesses or organizations seeking qualified men and women returning to the work force after serving in the military may rent exhibit tables at the event. Through the efforts of Toms River dentist Dr. Ron Rotem, Reynolds Marketing, and Greater Media Radio New Jersey, veterans will have an opportunity to seek employment directly from employers, attend employment-related workshops, and find out about personal services available to them in a Veteran’s Resource Room at the job fair. The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held at the Merri-Makers catering facility at the PNC Bank Reception Center, Exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway, Holmdel. Exhibit

tables are available for $200 each to those employers seeking well-qualified men and women in the military who have returned home.

Dr. Miriam T. Furlong has relocated her practice, Jackson Orthodontics, to 186 West Veterans Highway, Jackson, across from the Jackson Justice Complex. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the practice. Some of the amenities in the new office include a spa-like setting, a refreshment bar, Internet stations, video game systems and a play area for preschoolers and toddlers. Furlong has been practicing orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics since 1998. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. Furlong is the current treasurer of the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society and has been voted among the top dentists in New Jersey by her peers. She is a participating provider with Donated Orthodontic Services and Smiles Change Lives. Furlong has donated orthodontic treatment to qualifying Jackson students and she supports local charities and scholarships. Furlong and her husband, Mike, live in Jackson with their two sons.

A business expo hosted by the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and CentraState Healthcare System will be held 4-8 p.m. Nov. 7 at CentraState Medical Center’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W.
