Enjoy An Evening in Tuscany

By Diane Hasili
D&R Greenway, Marsilio’s Catering and Events, and jazz musician Eric Mintel join the YWCA Princeton for a benefit, “An Evening in Tuscany”, on Thursday, November 3rd, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
The Bates Scholarship Benefit will be held at D&R Greenway on One Preservation Place in Princeton, NJ. Guests will dine on gourmet hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Marsilio’s Catering and Event Planning in Trenton, which has received national recognition and numerous accolades from fine dining critics, including the NY Times, Zagat, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. The evening will also include jazz music by Eric Mintel, accomplished composer of orchestral and choral music and member of the Eric Mintel Quartet.
Guests will also be treated to fine wines and cocktails in addition to an olive oil tasting by JD Gourmet. Tempting offerings will delight attendees in the silent auction, including weeklong getaways in Key West, Florida and Cape Cod; four VIP tickets to see a live taping of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart; golf for four at Jasna Polana, and a variety of original art.
Making final preparations for an enchanting evening evoking the charm of the Italian countryside are Eric Mintel, jazz musician, Susan Battaglino, John Williams, Laurel Cameron, Alan Meinster, owner of Marsilio’s Catering & Event Planning, Geniva Martin, Bates Benefit Chair, Michelle Emerson, and Aarthi Selvam.
The party precedes the 38th annual Crafters’ Marketplace weekend, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, at John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton. The Crafters’ Marketplace features more than 130 juried artisans in a show of upscale wearable art, pottery, glass, jewelry, and much more. Select artist items will be available in the silent auction at the Bates Scholarship Benefit!
Proceeds from the Bates Scholarship Benefit and the Crafters’ Marketplace weekend benefit the Pearl Bates Scholarship Fund at the YWCA Princeton, which enables women and families in financial need to participate in YWCA programs and services including English as a second language, adapted dance and aquatics, child care, and more.
Tickets to “An Evening in Tuscany” are $100 and include the benefit on November 3, entrance to the Crafters Marketplace on November 19 & 20, and lunch at the Newcomers’ Café on November 19 & 20. For tickets or additional information, please call (609) 497-2100 ext. 333.
