The Long Branch Historical Association will hold its next meeting 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 on the second floor of Long Branch City Hall, 344 Broadway. Speakers Robert Silverman and Diana Newman will portray New Jersey Civil War history in character. They will be offering for sale the two books put out by the New Jersey Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee (150 years). As always, the meeting is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Maestro Community Development Corp. and The Long Branch Housing Authority join forces as National Pro Wrestling Superstars return 7:45 p.m. Oct. 28 to Long Branch’s Bucky James Community Center, 231 Wilbur Ray Ave. Halloween costume contests will be held for ages 1-12 and 13 and over. TheAmerican Legion Riders announced the first New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Ride to benefit the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation and the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center in Holmdel. The ride will be held Oct. 16, rain or shine, with riders assembling at the National Guard Headquarters in Lawrenceville and traveling to Holmdel at 11:30 a.m. Registration is $25 and includes barbecue lunch. The Bayshore Companion Dog Club is offering its first CAT Coursing Aptitude Test Match 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at Bucks Mill Recreation Center, Colts Neck.
