Police charged a man at the Extended Stay America on Route 1 with exposing himself to passing motorists this week.
Mark Puopolo, 41, was arrested and charged with lewdness Tuesday with for allegedly exposing himself to motorists passing by the hotel on Route 1, according to police.
According to police, a woman came to police headquarters Saturday complaining that a man at the hotel exposed himself to her as she walked up to the facility.
Police said the woman reported that she looked up and saw a man standing in an open window, with the blinds pulled up to his neck, exposing the rest of his nude body.
Detectives were able to identify the occupant of the room as Mr. Puopolo.
Police said this was not the first time Mr. Puopolo was charged with this type of offense.
On Sept. 30, a passing female motorist on Route 1 reported a similar incident while driving by the hotel, according to police.
That driver also said she looked to the right and saw a man in an open window exposing himself, according to police.
Police said that Mr. Puopolo had also been charged with the same offense six other times in Helmetta, East Brunswick and South River.
Police said that Mr. Puopolo was released pending his first court appearance.
Police are also asking the public to report any suspicious activity in the area of the Extended Stay Hotel during the past month to call 732-329-4646.
