The Brain Tumor Support Group, now in its 20th year, along with the JFK Brain Tumor Center, the Musella Foundation and the Monmouth and Ocean County Brain Tumor Support Group will host Diagnosis Brain Tumor: You Are Not Alone IV, a regional brain-tumor conference set for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 29 at JFK Medical Center, 70 James St., Edison.
Each year more than 200,000 individuals in the United States are diagnosed with either a primary brain tumor or cancer that has spread to the brain from another site. Brain tumors can affect people of all ages.
Among the topics to be covered at the conference are “Therapies for Brain Tumors,” “Newly Diagnosed,” “Coping With Seizures,” “Quality of Life for Brain Tumor Survivors,” “Pediatric and Adult Brain Tumors,” “The Disability and Insurance Maze,” “Managing Medical Bills,” “Clinical Trials — Are They for You?” and “Caregivers — What You Need to Know.”
Fee is $20; price includes lunch. Scholarships are available for anyone facing financial difficulties.
