Spend Oct. 30 with author Peter Lucia as he takes you through one of the great murder cases/detective stories of the century, which occurred in Asbury Park in 1910-11. On Oct. 5 at Bingham Hall in Rumson, the Garden Club of Fair Haven celebrated its 60th anniversary. Among the guests were honorary members and past presidents Harriet Gabel and Betty Schulte. After the regular meeting, a bouquet made of flowers and greenery from members’ gardens was presented to Janet Harris in recognition of her 60 years of membership. Hetty Tegen, club historian, read a synopsis of the club’s inception, purpose and history, and Lynda Griffith, club program chair, read funny, nostalgic and inspiring memories of club members.

The Seniors of Little Silver will have guest speaker Katie Brower at its Oct. 25 meeting at 1 p.m. in the Woman’s Club House on Church Street.
