Students at Virgil I. Grissom Elementary School, Old Bridge, put the finishing touches on a character education mural. Fifth-graders were introduced to each “pillar of good character” in their art classes, and were instructed to choose a pillar and create a poster reflecting what it means to them. Completed posters were judged, with the after-school staff choosing finalists, and students choosing a winner. The project was supported from a grant by the Old Bridge Education Foundation, which offers financial assistance for district projects and programs. Students at Virgil I.
