Halloween goes to the dogs at Action Room

HOWELL — The Action Room, 4411 Route 9 north, Howell, will host its annual fall festival on Oct. 29 at 8:30 p.m. While the event is free, participants are encouraged to bring a donation for the Rescue Ridge animal rescue, which serves Monmouth and Ocean counties.

The fun-filled night will consist of a dog costume contest, pumpkin painting, food, face painting and a world record attempt dancing Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance. This year will also feature semi-professional “Star Wars” costume personalities from the 501st Legion of “Star Wars.”

“Every year just keeps getting bigger and better,” said Thriller dance instructor Piper Williams. “The pet costume contest is always a highlight of the evening, with many people bringing their furry family members. Rescue Ridge will also bring many costumed adoptables who are looking for their ‘furever’ homes.”

The Action Room will once again take part in the official “Thrill The World” world record attempt. When “Thriller” is danced that evening, all of the dancers will be officially registered and videotaped as they attempt to break a world record for simultaneous dance in multiple locations.

This will also be the first year the 501st Legion of “Star Wars” is involved with the fall festival at theAction Room. “Star Wars” fans young and old will recognize storm troopers and Darth Vader taking pictures and having fun with zombies and their costumed dogs.
