Anna T. Anzano

Mrs. Anzano, 87, of Aberdeen, died Oct. 30, 2011. In the 1960s, she became a teacher and supervisor of the Business Education Department at Union Hill High School, where she retired after 23 years. At UHHS, she was adviser of the Office Practice Club, whose purpose was to work with mentally challenged children. Mrs. Anzano was a longtime member of American LegionAuxiliary Post 46, where she served several years as president and chaired the annual poppy drive for more than 50 years. She was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph’s Parish, Keyport. Mrs. Anzano was predeceased by her husband, Ralph P. Anzano, and a sister, Edith Yelpo. Surviving are five children, Anna M. Walling-Fecher, Christina M. Cannavale, Ralph J. Anzano, Albert P. Anzano and Maria A. Wilson, and their spouses; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph R. Yelpo. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by interment at Grove Cemetery, North Bergen. Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
