The South Jersey Iron Pigs 13U travel baseball team based out of Plumsted won the Council Rock Newtown, Pa., Fall Classic for the second consecutive year. The 2011 Iron Pigs are made up of young men from Ocean and Burlington counties. Their “Get Dirty, Play Hard” motto served them well as they went undefeated for the weekend, scoring 24 runs and allowing just five runs. The championship was 3-1 over local Big League Academy. The team plays in the Tri-State Elite Baseball League and will be competing in four more fall tournaments. The South Jersey Iron Pigs are Nate Peacock, Johnny Cruz, Dan Fantozzi, Ryan Lucas, Lucas Notarianni, Jared Haughland, Lorenzo Spinelli, Cameron Miraglia, Brandon Mology, T.J. Hughes and Jason Hughes. The manager is San Notarianni Sr. and the coaches are Jim Miraglia, Toby Peacock and Tom Hughes.
