Randall Haywood, an instrumental music teacher at the Marlboro Memorial Middle School, Marlboro, will be performing at Chico’s House of Jazz in Asbury Park on Nov. 19 from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Haywood was a full tuition scholarship student at the Juilliard School, New York, and graduated with a Master of Music degree in 2010.
Performing with Haywood at Chico’s House of Jazz will be renowned drummer Victor Jones and fellow Juilliard Jazz Studies colleagues.

Haywood, who has more than 15 years of experience as a performer, educator, songwriter and producer, has traveled nationally and internationally. He has conducted music workshops and performed in France, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Columbia, Costa Rica, Japan and the United States.
His performance experiences include performing with hip-hop artist/actor Ludacris and R&B singer T-Pain. He has appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Through his associations and performances with Wynton Marsalis and Marcus Roberts, Haywood has shared the stage with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Itzhak Perlman, the late Grover Washington Jr. and conductor Seiji Ozawa. As a young musician, Haywood was a featured trumpet soloist on the PBS television special “Marsalis on Music.”
In 1995, Haywood became the youngest person to ever perform with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.
Jazz festivals Haywood has performed in include the Monterey Jazz Festival, JVC Jazz Festival, Prague Jazz Festival (Czech Republic), North Sea Festival (the Netherlands), Vienne Jazz Festival (France), Pori Jazz Festival (Finland), and Vitoria Jazz Festival (Spain).
Haywood has also performed as a guest classical soloist with the Jacksonville and Gateway symphony orchestras in Florida, home of his youth.
