Anime Nation event slated for library

AnAnime Nation event, New Jersey’s only festival dedicated to Japanese-styled animation for high-schoolers, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St., Toms River. Teens will get a chance to watch anime cartoons and connect with other anime fans.

Anime Nation’s special guest will be Uncle Yo, a comedian whose special brand of humor covers a lifetime of watching cartoons, reading comics and playing video games. Uncle Yo has been a featured performer at anime and geek culture events nationwide.

There will also be a “cosplay” runway, where people can show off their homemade costumes of their favorite pop culture characters, and an anime e-gallery showing off artwork of local artists.

Anime Nation is co-sponsored by the Toms River High School North Anime Club.

Registration is required for this free program. To register, contact the library by telephone at 732-349-6200 or online at www.theoceancountylibrary.org.
