Mercer County Community College’s Spring Semester Begins Jan. 23

WEST WINDSOR, NJ:   There is still time to register for Spring 2012 credit courses at Mercer County Community College (MCCC).  Most courses begin Jan. 23.  In addition to the West Windsor and downtown Trenton campuses, students can take courses online through The Virtual College, and, for the first time, at Hightstown and Hopewell High Schools.
Again this semester, in addition to welcoming traditional college-age students, Mercer is set to serve many adult students who are out of work and seeking retraining, and those interested in updating their skills for career growth.
Mercer’s 70 associate degree programs include specialized majors which attract students from throughout the region, such as Aviation Flight Technology, Funeral Services, Horticulture/Plant Science, Entertainment Technology and Exercise Science.  Shorter-term certificate programs offer career preparation.
Three baccalaureate colleges now offer bachelor’s degree programs right on the West Windsor Campus, and MCCC students can transfer seamlessly into these programs.  They are William Paterson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Felician College. New Jersey legislation ensures that community college credits will transfer easily to all of New Jersey’s four-year state colleges, and Mercer also holds dual admissions and transfer agreements with other colleges nationwide.
For those who wish to begin a career right after graduation, MCCC offers career programs such as Law Enforcement, Digital Media Arts, Game Design and Solar Energy Technology.
Students at Mercer have access to free tutoring, academic advisement and assistance with financial aid. Highly motivated students may be eligible for the Honors Program, which provides an enriched college experience.

Previously registered students may register online.  In-person registration takes place at both campuses Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Enrollment Services may be reached at 609-570-3795.
