BOE invites seniors to district events

The South Brunswick Board of Education invites the senior community to attend special events in the school district. All seniors who preregister with the senior center will be admitted free of charge to the following events.

 Seventh annual Day With the Characters, 10 a.m. Feb. 1. This year’s theater presentation is “Once Upon a Mattress,” a musical comedy. Transportation will be provided by the township and the Board of Education for those who register. For those who drive, come to the senior center and ride the school bus. Following the show, the main characters will join the seniors for a noon lunch at the Senior Center. Lunchtime includes door prizes and a sing-along with the cast. Everyone needs to register, even those driving. Deadline for registration is Jan. 19.

 “District Vocal Festival,” 7 p.m. Feb. 9. This festival, held in the South Brunswick High School auditorium, will feature the “best of the best” music students in the fifth-grade chorus and the middle school and high school choirs. Seniors must provide their own transportation to the event.
