The following lectures will be offered free of charge at the Office on Aging, South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the municipal complex on Route 522:
“Living Healthy with Arthritis,” 10:30 a.m. Jan. 11. This lecture will be presented by Dr. Aly G. Cohen, a board-certified internist and rheumatologist specializing in arthritis, immune system disorders and women’s health. Dr. Cohen is trained in medical acupuncture from the Helms Institute at UCLA, and she also teaches healthy dietary and integrative medicine techniques to her patients.
Medication safety lecture, 10:30 a.m. Jan. 25. Enjoy a unique way to learn medication safety with a Jeopardy-style game. The lecture will be presented by Linda Surks, B.S., C.P.S., from Coalition for Healthy Communities National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) of Middlesex County Inc.
“File of Life,” 10:30 a.m. Jan. 25. The File of Life is a piece of paper containing medical information. A red vinyl envelope will be provided for attendees to put this information in and place on their refrigerator. This is where the emergency first responders know to look for it. A compact version is also available for a person to carry in a wallet or purse.
