Jewish Family and Vocational Service of Middlesex County (JFVS) will offer upcoming computer-training classes, job-readiness training and a financial-management workshop at the JVFS office, 32 Ford Ave., Milltown.
“Microsoft Word,” “Excel and Power Point,” “Beginner Computer” and “Simple Start for QuickBooks” will meet once or twice a week for a total of 12 hours for Microsoft classes and eight hours for Quick- Books beginning the week of Jan. 9. Cost for each class is $75, with reduced fees for women who qualify as displaced homemakers.
The JFVS Women’s Center will begin its job-readiness training Jan. 12. The intensive, 12-week course will cover job-searchrelated issues including skill identification, transferable skills, interviewing, cover letters, thank-you letters and using social networking to enhance one’s job search. The course is free of charge for women who qualify as displaced homemakers.
A two-hour “Real Money Talk for Women” workshop is set for Jan. 17. Guest presenter will be Ellen Torres of Thrivent Financial. The free program is designed specifically for women, encouraging them to take control of their financial future by helping them understand budgeting, developing financial goals and saving for the future.
