WEST AMWELL: Fisher is township leader for this year

   WEST AMWELL — George Fisher was elected mayor of West Amwell Township for 2012 at the Township Committee’s annual reorganization meeting Monday.
   Mayor Fisher (a Republican) won a seat on the Township Committee in the November 2009 election. He defeated Democrat Ron Shapella in that election. In January 2010, he took the seat vacated by William Corboy, who did not seek re-election.
   Mr. Fisher retired from the Air Force as a colonel in 1995, serving both active duty and reserve. He also was a pilot for Eastern Airlines and Northwest Airlines and is a former member of the West Amwell Elementary School Board of Education.
   Zachary Rich was elected deputy mayor Monday.
   Mr. Molnar, who was re-elected to the three-member committee in November, took the oath of office for another three-year term. He served as mayor during 2011.
