Mr. Gabionwitz, 88, of Howell, formerly of Jackson, died Dec. 24, 2011, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He retired as a 20- year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed by Lakewood Golf Course and East Leisure Village, both in Lakewood, and by the borough of Farmingdale before his 1985 retirement. He is survived by his friends, Elsie C. Jones, Brian R. Jones and Bruce N. Jones. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, followed by interment in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Arrangements were by the Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson. Memorial donations may bemade to the St. Aloysius Church Building Fund, P.O.
