This coming June will mark the 80th anniversary of the Cranbury Lions Club and to commemorate the date the Lions are making a barrel of red wine with the Grape Escape in Dayton.
The Lions would like to involve the community and are having a wine label contest. The label can be created in any art medium, including photography, and must show the Lions logo. A number of other items and pieces of information must also be included on the label, such as the Lions logo.

Information on prizes will be announced as it becomes available. The deadline for entry submittals is April 30. Entries should be submitted to Bob Virgadamo at [email protected].
Also the Cranbury Lions Club is running its popular Valentine’s Day Rose Sale again this year and is working in conjunction with The Cutting Garden. Gorgeous bouquets of 12 long-stem red roses, paired with white monte casino and greens wrapped in some lovely craft paper and tied with a big red bow will be available for pre-sale price of $60 until Feb. 3. The bouquets will be available right up until Valentine’s Day but the price will go up to $70 after the pre-sale date of Feb. 3. Call The Cutting Garden at (609) 235-9242 to place an order ASAP. Make sure to ask for the Lions Club Bouquet and help support the Cranbury Lions Club.
Students ages 6 to 12 are invited to the Cranbury Library to celebrate Chinese New Year after school on Monday from 3:30 to 4:30. Educator/storyteller Hua Chen will explain the traditions of the holiday and tell stories in both English and Chinese. There will be crafts and a snack while supplies last.
The Cranbury Senior Community Center will have a free program, Time Traveler Antiques, on Friday Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. Bring a favorite treasure and appraiser Tom Petrino will give an idea of its value. Non-perishable food donations for Skeet’s Pantry will be accepted at the program.
Medicare counselor Marilyn Elias is available the last Tuesday of every month to discuss insurance options. Please call the township at 395-0900 to make an appointment.

Dawn Maisano, longtime Cranbury resident, mother of 13-year-old twin boys, township employee, and committed community member, has been diagnosed with a bone marrow defect that requires a marrow transplant. Dawn has been dealing with the disorder for the past nine years. Scarring is now preventing her marrow from functioning properly and a transplant is urgently needed.
To join the marrow registry stop by the Methodist Church on North Main Street on Saturday anytime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Simply fill out registration paperwork and take a swab of your mouth. Your information will be catalogued and checked against the needs of Dawn and others awaiting a transplant. Information is kept confidential and the donor is contacted only if a match for a person in need of a transplant. At anytime you can remove your name from the registry if you choose not to donate.
