Chamber honors Irvin

 Donald Irvin Donald Irvin Donald Irvin of Howell, manager of sales and economic development at New Jersey Natural Gas, Wall Township, was named Citizen of the Year by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce on Nov.16 at a reception at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood.

The Citizen of theYear award highlights the work of men and women who have made a noteworthy impact on the Lakewood community through self-sacrifice, service and volunteerism, according to a press release.

Chamber members recognized Irvin for his meritorious service to the Lakewood community, noting that as a chamber board member and co-chairman of the organization’s Business Economic Growth Committee, he brings creative vision and leadership, providing service to programs and activities that positively impact the Lakewood community, businesses and chamber.

“Don’s innovation and determination have invigorated the business and economic landscape in Lakewood,” said Lawrence Krompier, executive director of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. “With a genuine interest in the enhancement of the Lakewood community, he has shared his entrepreneurial spirit and business savvy for the benefit of businesses and the chamber alike.”

Irvin has worked at New Jersey Natural Gas for more than 14 years, playing a key role in developing and implementing the company’s economic development program, according to the press release. Working closely with counties and local governments, Irvin offers businesses access to programs and information that help strengthen communities by supporting new and growing enterprises that create jobs and contribute to the economic vitality of communities.
