Mr. Retzlaff, 65, of Milltown, died Jan. 3, 2012, in Golden Living Center, Old Bridge. Prior to retiring in 2002, he was a teacher at New Brunswick High School, where he worked for 33 years. He was a former member of the Milltown Board of Education. He was predeceased by his parents, Thaddeus and Betty Retzlaff, and by two brothers, Skip and Jon. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Burak Retzlaff; three sons, Peter Retztagg, and his wife, Joanna, of Seattle, Wash., Timothy Retzlaff, and his wife, Amie, of Montclair and Travis Retzlaff of Milltown; two daughters, Melissa Caputi, and her husband, Steve, of Ewing and Emily Retzlaff of Milltown; a sister, Virginia Jakubowski of Mountainside; and two grandchildren. A service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.
