MANVILLE: Police blotter, week of Jan. 26

   Irina Rubalskaya of Brooklyn came to headquarters at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 and said she had bought a 2004 Honda Civic from a dealer for $4,600 but had not received the title after several attempts. She was advised of civil procedures.

   A Boesel Avenue woman called at 3:07 p.m. Jan. 16 and said her landlord had discarded contents of a flooded home into a dump container. Police will investigate.

   Phil Petrone reported that a storm sewer grate was missing outside of 705 Raritan Ave. The DPW was called to respond at 5:16 p.m. Jan. 16. At 10:28 a.m. Jan. 17, Enzo Lomedico came to headquarters to report two storm sewer grates stolen from two locations the previous day, one at Whalen Street and Frech Avenue and second at Onka and Raritan Avenue. Total value of the two items was estimated at $460. Police will investigate.

   At 4:14 p.m. Jan. 17 St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick reported a 3-year-old had been admitted due to dog bite at his residence. Patrols went to the house and spoke to family members who said family dog had bitten a boy in head. A dog bite form was filled out and faxed to Board of Health.

   A driver got out of his blue Ford F-150 and exchanged words with a driver in Acura in a “road rage” incident at 5:04 p.m. Jan. 17. Patrols responded but the drivers were gone on their arrival.

   A Duke’s Parkway woman came to headquarters at 11:33 a.m. Jan. 18 to report Hurricane Irene damaged two cable boxes and one modem was destroyed. She needed to make a report for Cablevision, she said.

   A Uniondale, N.Y., man came to headquarters at 6:04 p.m. Jan. 18 to report two New York plates on his 2001 Chevy were missing. The vehicle had been parked at Adesa Auto Auction from Jan. 12 to 18. The value was put at $25.

   A South 19th Avenue woman reported at 7:40 a.m. Jan. 19 that someone forced entry into home and removed a 42-inch flat screen TV valued at $400. She also said a check taken in December had been fraudulently cashed for $40. Police will investigate.

   Joan Everett of Washington Avenue reported at 2:18 p.m. Jan. 19 the theft of a Vista Quest digital camcorder some time in past two weeks. Its estimated value was $300. No serial numbers were available.

   High School Principal Dr. James Brunn came to headquarters at 3 p.m. Jan. 19 to sign two complaints against parents for truancy of children.

   On Jan. 19 at 4:39 p.m. Raiju Memantkumar of Best Little Market reported that on Jan. 16 the business possibly had been robbed of $700 cash by three men who said they had a weapon but never displayed it. He hadn’t reported the incident previously. Police will investigate.

   A North 8th Avenue man came to headquarters at 3:08 p.m. Jan. 20 to say he had received a suspicious phone call from Somerset Medical Center asking for his personal information. Patrols spoke to the man and the incident documented. .

   A Griggs Place man reported at 7:36 p.m. Jan. 20 that his fence had been damaged in the last few days. He did not know how it happened. The cost of damage is $400. It was put on the record.

   A total of 38 parking complaints were written between 8:21 and 11:40 a.m. Jan. 21 in the snowstorm.

   A West Camplain Road woman came to headquarters at 2:26 p.m. Jan. 21 to say someone had taken 30 checks from her home and six, totaling $1,321.14, had been cashed against her account.

   A caller reports 5:26 p.m. Jan. 22 seeing suspicious activity across the Millstone River in the area of Lincoln Avenue Park. Patrols speak to North Avenue and North 7th Avenue men, who were both issued motor vehicle summonses.

   A caller asks for a check on occupants of a South Street apartment at 8:03 p.m. Jan. 22. Sgt. Paul Meixner arrested Richard Pullman, 25, for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was released.
