I would like to express my gratitude to the Suburban for printing articles and a letter to the editor in recent issues about the distressing plight of the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center (SPAC) and the fact that it may possibly need to permanently close its doors.
It would be a terrible loss if that were to happen because SPAC is a valuable asset to the community, providing pet-overpopulation control and offering wonderful companion animals to local residents. I adopted my current companion cat from SPAC 16 years ago and have tried to support the shelter whenever possible. The information that you print in your newspaper is the best way to alert residents to any needs SPAC may have and to keep us informed of the shelter’s fundraisers and activities. Currently there is a very deep need for community support in order for SPAC to keep doing its compassionate and necessary work.
Many, many thanks to the Suburban for its support. I sincerely hope you will continue to be of help to the shelter through these difficult times.
