HILLSBOROUGH: Book discussion, computer lessons, family Zumba coming up at library

   Friends of the Library will discuss the book “Before I Go To Sleep” by S.J. Watson on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. They invite people to read the book and join the discussion.
   Computer programs continue in February. Part one of an Introduction to Microsoft Word will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at noon.
   Part one of an Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007 will be held Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m.
   Part two of each lesson will be held the next week at the same hour.
   Interested in some family fitness? Parents and children ages 7-10, when accompanied by a caregiver, are invited to Zumba class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Friday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m.
   The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 13.
   Upcoming programs intended for adults. Registration is required:
   • Monday Morning Moms — Programs for mothers and caregivers are offered at 10 a.m. at the library. The topics of discussion come with recommended resources.
   • Evening movie — “Moneyball,” starring Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, is the story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft players. Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m.
   • Afternoon movie — “The Debt,” an espionage thriller starring Ciaran Hinds, Helen Mirren and Tom Wilkinson, will be shown Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m.

   • Learning Adventures (ages 4-6) — Join a learning adventure about things that go! Thursday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m.
   • Singing Babies (newborn to 24 months) — Ann Wild will lead a program for little ones. Friday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m.
   • Special Storytime (ages 2-6) – It’s a special storytime on shapes and sizes! Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m.
   • First Look Books (grades 6-12) — Want a free book? Get a sneak peek at teen titles before they hit the shelves. Tell us what you think and take one home. Monday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m.
   • Stories for 4’s, 5’s & 6’s — Help your preschooler get ready to read. Enjoy stories together and build language skills. A program is on bears on Monday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m.
   • Toddler Time: Bundle Up! (ages 2-3) — Introduce the pleasure of books to your child in stories, songs and more. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m.
   • Rhyme Time (ages newborn to 2) — Join us for 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m.
   • TAB meeting (grades 6-12) — The Teen Advisory Board helps plan events — and enjoy some snacks! Attendance counts towards community service hours. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m.
   • Afterschool Science (grades 3-5) — Hands-on fun with the science of light. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
   • Science for 4’s, 5’s & 6’s: Science of Light (ages 4-6) — Kids love science! Join us for stories and hands-on activities as you and your child explore science concepts together. Thursday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.
   • Afterschool Science (grades kindergarten to 2) — Join us for some hands-on science! Thursday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m.
   • Story and craft: (ages 2-6) — Listen to a story and create a Valentine’s butterfly craft to take home. Friday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
   • Story and songs (ages 2-6) — Join us for an interactive storytime and musical activities. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m.
   State Flower Show Prep (grades 2-5) – Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club and make something fun. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m.
   • Rhyme Time – (ages newborn to 2) – Build brainpower! Join us for 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10:30 a.m.
   • Toddler Time (ages 2-3) — Introduce the pleasure of books to your child! Join us for stories and songs on valentines on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m.

   • Anime Club (grades 8-12) — Hang out with your friends and watch anime, discuss the latest manga and more. Thursday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m.
   • Math Matters (ages 4-6) — Stories and activities will get math brains working. A program on pairs will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m.
   buStory and craft (ages 2-6) —Listen to a story and create a polar bear mask to take home. Friday, Feb. 17, at 10 and 11 a.m.
   • Lego Buddies (grades 8-12) — We need teen volunteers to help out with the Lego Club program. You can earn community service hours. Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2:30 p.m.
   • Lego Club (grades 3-5) — If you are into Legos, come and hang out with other Lego-maniacs and have fun building together! Saturday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m.
   The Homework Help Center for grades 5-8 is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4-6 p.m.; Tuesday 4-6 and 6:30-8:30 p.m.
