LAWRENCE: Woman surprises burglar in house

By Lea Kahn, Staff Writer
A Brunswick Avenue resident left home for a few minutes on Jan. 20 and returned home to find a burglar in her home, according to police Lt. Charles B. Edgar.
When the victim returned home around 6 p.m., she noticed a drawer ajar in the dresser. She heard a noise upstairs and called out, Lt. Edgar said. A man wearing a black and white ski mask and dark clothing ran down the steps toward the front door.
The burglar told the victim that he had a gun, and she opened the front door, Lt. Edgar said.
The man ran out toward Spruce Street. The victim and police are investigating whether anything was stolen from the house.
