A Brooks Boulevard caller at 2:55 p.m. Jan. 23 reported a theft of an electronic reader with black faux cover at about 11:30 a.m. Estimated value was $139.
An older-style vehicle was driving around Roosevelt Avenue and blowing the horn at 9:27 p.m. Jan. 23, a caller said. Officers found nothing.
Two men one a 24-year from Staten Island were reported fighting in the street in a dispute over a woman who lives on South 17th Avenue at 9:48 p.m. Jan. 23. Parties were advised, police said.
A woman reported a suspicious man banging on her South 18th Avenue front door and walking away at 2:41 p.m. Jan. 24. Patrols found nothing.
A theft from a Raritan Avenue residence was reported at 3 p.m. Jan. 24. Sgt. Ron Gazaway found a forced entry and jewelry and various electronics, including a white Apple iPad2 with a value of $650 were taken. The total value of missing items was estimated at $14,665. The investigation is continuing.
A Huff Avenue woman came to headquarters at 4:52 p.m. Jan. 24 to report identity theft. Patrols found someone used an online payment account and her e-mail to buy $1,764.56 worth of items from Jr. Electronics. The bank will reimburse her, police said. An investigation continues.
Following a traffic stop at midnight Jan. 25, two men were arrested.
Donald Dale 3rd, 27, was arrested on a $2,500 Bridgewater traffic warrant and taken to Somerset County Jail. Albert Tomaszfski was arrested for a;llegedly 39:3-40 for having license plates stolen out of Hillsborough. National crime teletypes were sent.836
A Dakota Street resident reported at 9:22 Jan. 25 that she lost her white 16GB iPhone 4 outside her residence. She said she downloaded an application to track the cell phone. Police recorded her report and told her to return when she knew more.
At 11:29 a.m. Jan. 25 three window air conditioner units were reported taken in the last day from a backyard on North Weiss Street. The value was estimated at $850.
Bridgewater police reported an oven fire on South 6th Avenue at 3:09 p.m. Jan. 25. Residents were advised to evacuate immediately and police, fire and rescue departments responded.
A caller reported at 6:18 p.m. Jan. 25 there was a vehicle with fogged windows on the corner of South 15th and Vermont Avenue. Patrols found the vehicle gone on their arrival.
A Plainfield woman came to headquarters at 11:36 p.m. Jan. 25 to report losing a debit card at Walmart on North Main Street that evening.
A Walmart loss prevention officer called at about 3 p.m. Jan. 26 to report suspected credit card fraud. A Somerset man was detained and he and articles were taken to headquarters. The matter was turned over to Detective Lt. John Crater.
A woman called to say a man who said he was from Total Energy knocked on her Sidorskie Avenue door at 9:21 p.m. Jan. 26 and said he needed to look at her electric meter. She did not let him in, she said. Patrols didn’t find anyone.
Criminal mischief on a lock on a Brooks Boulevard garage was reported at 10:22 p.m. Jan. 27. It may have been that way for about one week, the caller said. Nothing was missing but the incident was recorded.
A man came to headquarters shortly after noon Jan. 27 and reported he had lost his green card and Social Security card.
At 5:27 p.m. Jan. 27 Christ the King School reported a harassing incident on the playground two days earlier between seventh and fourth graders. The school said it would handle internally, with approval from parents.
A caller at about 1 p.m. Jan. 28 reported a theft from South 7th Avenue residence, but police responded and found the report unfounded, with the items scattered throughout the house. The caller is dementia/Alzheimer’s patient, police said. Family members were called and came.
A caller at 1:33 p.m. Jan. 28 reported a burglary and theft from the business. Patrols found $770 in cash had been taken. Lt. Crater responded and is investigating.
A South 4th Avenue woman came to headquarters at 2:55 p.m. Jan. 28 to report a fraudulent charge on walmart.com using her bank card. The bank will handle the investigation and asked the incident be put on record.
