MANVILLE: Recreation boys’ basketball nips Bedminster, 28-24

   Manville Recreation’s 5th and 6th grade boys’ basketball team defeated their toughest opponent of the year, Bedminster, 28-24, in a tight game Saturday in Bedminster.
   The Bedminster team was big and quick, but Manville (now 3-0) played tough and together as a team to stay undefeated.
   For Manville the play of the game was at the end of the first half. With six seconds left, Alex Norz quickly dribbled up court, made a long cross-court pass to Carlos Sinche, who made a 2-point jump shot at the last second.
   Alex finished the game with 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 points. Jake Bentz scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Dylan Whitenight and Marco Ortiz both grabbed 8 rebounds. Dylan also had 4 points and Marco added two.
   Hunter Norz grabbed 15 rebounds and scored 7 points. Nick Didia and Kevin Morales both had 3 rebounds. Nick added 1 point on a foul shot, while Kevin had 2 assists.
   Manville’s next game is tonight, Thursday, at Alexander Bathchko Intermediate School at 6:30 against Somerville.
