The Manville Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the VFW on Washington Avenue. The club, which is comprised of people who are residents of Manville, age 60 or older, and age 55 if disabled.
Canned goods or non-perishable food items will continue to be collected before each meeting, as well as soup labels. Remember to bring one item per member to help stock the Food Bank.
Blood pressure screening is held before the beginning of each meeting for members.
At the Feb. 9 meeting a budget will be presented for discussion.
The pre-meeting phone service will be resumed for our next meeting.
Our corresponding secretary stepped down so we will be seeking a replacement.
We will partner with the Bound Brook Seniors on some day trips. They include: Hunterdon Hills to see “Butterflies Are Free” on June 13; Circle Line boat cruise with lunch, July 24; Monmouth Race Track with a stop at Delicious Apple Farm, Aug. 17; Royal Manor, afternoon New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

Recreation Events
• Feb. 12-14 — Mohegan Sun Casino trip; includes optional trip to Foxwood Casino for bingo or gambling. Cost is $280. Contact Donna Pierrot at 908-722-0325. This trip is open to the public. There are still a few openings.
• April 29-May 3 — Trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto includes tour of Niagara, Maid of the Mist boat ride: visits to Welland Canal, the beautiful floral clock and Niagara Falls View Casino. Included is an all-day tour of Toronto, featuring Casa Loma. There will be a tour guide for the entire trip. A valid passport is required. Contact Donna Pierrot at 908-722-0325. • Atlantic City — The club is running a $2 bus trip to Bally’s Casino in February, with the date to be determined. Contact Bill Evans or Theresa Evans at 908-625-5013. The bus leaves from the VFW parking lot.
• Atlantic City — The bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the VFW parking lot on the third Wednesday of each month for Showboat Casino and the cost is $30, which will be returned. This trip is open to the public by reservation only. Make your reservation with Josephine Pschar at the meeting or call her at 908-722-0156.
