MANVILLE: Police blotter, week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5

   One woman accused another of pushing her on South Main Street at 8:08 a.m. Jan. 30. Patrols responded and told the women of their rights.

   Adesa Auto Auction reported at 11 a.m. Jan. 30 having a gray 2008 Dodge Charger in its lot that had been reported stolen but was actually repossessed. Teletypes were sent to New York City Police.

   At 11 a.m. Jan. 30 a Roosevelt Avenue caller reported hearing a loud bang on her back door and believed someone may have tried to get inside. Patrols found an air conditioner unit had fallen into the house, causing the door to open. There were no signs of forced entry.

   John Lewis of Adesa Auto Auction came to headquarters at 1:43 p.m. Jan. 30 to report that, during the inventory of Adesa dealer license plates, two were missing. He wanted it on the record.

   A North 9th Avenue woman said at 4 p.m. Jan. 30 that she had lost personal documents over the last month. Among them were her Social Security card, permanent resident card, Colombian passport and marriage certificate. She wanted it on the record.

   A West Camplain Road woman said at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 30 that she had been verbally and physically assaulted by a North 8th Avenue woman. The first woman was given a citizen’s complaint form.

   County communications reported a rescue squad call on South Main Street at 5:26 a.m. Jan. 31. A 94-year-old woman was found unresponsive and not breathing, and was later pronounced to have died.

   Teri Limbach of South 17th Avenue came to headquarters at 10:35 a.m. Jan. 31 to report that her necklace and ring, valued at $500, had been taken since 9:40 p.m. Jan. 30. Police will investigate.

   At 2:33 p.m. Jan. 31 a North 1st Avenue caller said a safe had been burgled sometime since Jan. 28 and about 40 temporary vehicle registrations, valued at $280, were missing. Patrolman Bill Yankoski will investigate.

   A woman reported at 3:12 p.m. Jan. 31 that one of her dealer plates was lost on Jan. 13 while at the Adesa Auto Auction and wanted it on the record. She reported she had recovered it at noon on Feb. 2.

* * *

   County communications reported a 50-year-old man bleeding from the hands in a possible suicide attempt on South Main Street at 4:47 p.m. Jan. 31. The rescue squad took the man to Somerset Medical Center.

   At 7:02 p.m. Jan. 31 a man said he found a threatening letter on his car’s windshield for parking in a private spot on Dakota Street. Patrols advised the man of his rights.

* * *

   A woman called at 7:54 p.m. Jan. 31 to say that an elderly man with white hair, a blue jacket and jeans urinated in front of her daughters outside the VFW on Washington Avenue. Patrols were unable to locate the man.

   County communications reported a black Mustang drag racing up and down North 3rd Avenue, possibly traveling toward Route 206, at 10:31 p.m. Jan. 31. Patrols checked but the vehicle was gone.

   At 2:40 p.m. Feb. 1 Adesa reported having a recovered 2005 blue VW Jetta in its lot, reportedly stolen from New York City. Teletypes were sent.

   Following a call from the resident, police found and charged Spencer J. Sheridan, 27, of Somerville with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice for allegedly pounding on the door of a private residence on North 5th Avenue at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 1. He never made it inside, police said. He was taken to county jail.

   Mark Willis, 52, of Staten Island, N.Y., and Fangzeng Lin, 47, of Brooklyn were charged with defiant trespassing on North Main Street at 9 a.m. Feb. 2. They were released after processing.

* * *

   A man came to headquarters at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 to report a dealer tag, valued at $5, was stolen at Adesa Auto Auction. Police entered the info in the national crime computer and the investigation will continue.

* * *

   Hillsborough police asked for help to check an area on South Main Street for a misplaced 12-gauge shotgun at 2:09 p.m. Feb. 2. Patrols couldn’t find anything.

* * *

   The landlord of a Valerie Drive property came to headquarters at 3:48 p.m. Feb. 3 to report that an ATV had done criminal mischief to the back yard. She also reported a $1,800 bad check for past due rent. Police will investigate.

   A North Street caller reported several juveniles carrying “for sale” signs at 3:10 a.m. Feb. 4. Patrols checked the area and found nothing.

* * *

   A caller at 1:41 p.m. Feb. 4 reported ATV riders in the area of Richard Avenue. Patrols found no one.

* * *

   A caller at 4:28 p.m. Feb. 4 said someone in a cream-colored Lexus was riding in the Walmart parking lot, possibly looking to try to open trunks of parked vehicles, the caller suspected. Police checked and found nothing.

* * *

   Walmart security reported having an accused female shoplifter at 4:36 p.m. Feb. 4. Patrols charged Melissa Heller, 27, of South Street with shoplifting and released her on $100 cash bail.

* * *

   A North 6th Avenue caller said the rear window of his 2001 Dodge was broken between 9 p.m. Feb. 5 and 9 a.m. Feb. 6. Estimated cost to repair is $300.

* * *

   A caller reported a disturbance on Duke’s Parkway at 12:34 a.m. Feb. 6. Patrols responded and reported an argument over household Tupperware. Parties were advised on their rights.
