MONROE: Three burglaries reported in township in late January

   MONROE — Monroe police responded to three separate reports of burglaries within a 5-mile radius in the northern portion of the township between Jan. 21 and Jan. 29.
   Jan. 21, the residence at 351 Buckelew Ave. was found to be burglarized. Various jewelry was taken from the residence, police said.
   The investigation included the use of a K-t Track by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit. The track found the victim’s jewelry lying on the ground along the route taken by the suspect. The track led to the home of the suspect, Frank Valletutti, 28, who subsequently was arrested.
   Mr. Valletutti lives at 354 Buckelew Ave. and was charged with burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools. He was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.
   Jan. 24, the resident of 7 Edgewood Ave. reported a burglary. The burglar made a nonforced entry to a rear door and took the victim’s jewelry between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Jan. 24, police said.
   Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm at 8 Elliot Drive.
   Upon arrival, police found an open rear door and a forced entry to a rear window, police said. The residence was entered, but nothing was stolen. The only damage was to the rear window.
