POLICE BEAT: Week of Feb. 9

   Julian Gonzalez, 21, no hometown given, was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs and other offenses at 1:57 a.m. Jan. 31, police said.
   Patrolman Thomas Paglione stopped Mr. Gonzalez’ vehicle because he failed to move over to the left lane while passing two marked police vehicles on Route 130 where officers were conducting a traffic stop, police said.
   Police detected evidence CDS was present and had the vehicle towed to police headquarters to have a search warrant executed, police said. Mr. Gonzalez also was charged with distribution of prescription legend drugs and failure to give a controlled dangerous substance to police, police said.
   Daniel Pinto, 24, of Hamilton, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (less than 50 grams of marijuana) and other offenses after a motor vehicle stop at 9:28 a.m., Feb. 1, police said.
   Patrolman Adrian Markowski saw Mr. Pinto driving without a seat belt on Route 130 North and pulled him over, police said. The officer obtained evidence CDS was in the vehicle, received a consent to search and recovered the marijuana, police said.
   Mr. Pinto also was charged with possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seatbelt, police said.
   A “suspicious briefcase” left outside the main entrance of Villa Barone restaurant Jan. 27 led police to evacuate the restaurant and several nearby shops until the state police bomb squad determined there was no danger.
   ”The businesses in the vicinity were cleared for safety at which time the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad responded to process the suspicious briefcase and found it to be safe,” according to Detective Sgt. Vincent Estelle of the Robbinsville Police Department.
   The briefcase contained a small blanket and a paper bag, Sgt. Estelle said.
